SEND in Schools - for North Somerset Residents

Thursday 7th February 2019, 1.00 - 3.00pm

This FREE workshop is for parents and carers in North Somerset

Are you a parent or carer with a school-aged child in North Somerset? Have they been identified as having special educational needs (SEN) and/or a disability, or are you concerned that they may have?

If you’d like to: understand what school can do to support your child, feel more confident about having conversations with school about your child’s needs, know what to do if despite support being put in place your child is still not making progress and know what information to gather if you are thinking about requesting an education health care (EHC) needs assessment, then this workshop is for you! Delivered by Supportive Parents (your local SENDIAS team).

Aims for the workshop:

  •  To understand how special educational needs & disability support in schools should work
  • To feel confident in having conversations with school
  • To understand what information should be recorded about the special educational needs (SEN) support your child receives
