FREE Workshop for parents/carers in South Glos in November

The second of our free workshops for parents and carers is for those of you in South Gloucestershire:


Checking an EHCP - Thursday 29th November, 10.00 - 12.15


This FREE workshop is run by Supportive Parents' South Gloucestershire Local Co-ordinator, Santie Human, with funding received from South Gloucestershire Council. It's aimed at parents or carers whose child is at school in South Gloucestershire.

This event is for you if any of the following applies: your child has had a statutory assessment for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and a draft EHCP has been issued

you’re the parent of a child with an EHCP who is preparing for an annual review and you expect changes to be made to your child’s EHC plan

you’re the parent of a child with an EHC plan and you want to know what should really be included in it and where this information should go

FREE workshop for parents/carers in Bristol this November!

The following free workshop is for Parents and carers in Bristol:

SEND in Schools - Tuesday 27th November, 10.30am - 12.30pm

Are you a parent or carer with a school-aged child in Bristol? Have they been identified as having special educational needs (SEN) and/or a disability, or are you concerned that they may have? Would you like to:

  • understand what school can do to support your child

  • feel more confident about having conversations with school about your child’s needs

  • know what to do if, despite support being put in place your child is still not making progress

  • know what information to gather if you are thinking about requesting an education health care (EHC) needs assessment

If you can answer 'yes' to any of the above questions, this FREE event is for you! (Please note this event is aimed at parents and carers only, rather than professionals). The workshop will be facilitated by supportive Parents, your local SENDIAS team.

Social Communication & Autism Fayre, November 21st 2018

An informative health event for parents, carers, teachers and teaching assistants.  This is being jointly organised by North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together in association with Supportive Parents, Bridging the gap-together, Weston Area Health Trust and others.  Location: Hans Price Conference Centre, Weston College, Knightstone Campus, Lower Church Road, Weston-Super-Mare, BS23 2AL.  Times 10am – approx. 2pm.  Stay for the whole event or drop in any time.  For the programme click the poster to the left.


EHCP Annual Reviews - FREE North Somerset Workshop 5th October

This FREE workshop is aimed at parents of children with SEND and/or young people with SEND living in North Somerset, who have an Education Health and Care Plan. The workshop will cover how to prepare for an Annual Review, how to ensure your views are heard and what should happen both during and after the Review. In addition, there will be an opportunity to focus specifically on ‘Preparing for Adulthood’, with our SP16-25 Co-ordinator Kirstie Cottier. Spaces are limited to 20 people.
