Important information - North Somerset Support Group meeting - Jan 14th 7-9pm

Due to building works starting at The Firs, Drove Road, Weston Super Mare, we are unable to hold our Support Group meeting at this venue during January.  Please note that Support Group will be taking place Tuesday 14th January at the Yeo Valley Children's Centre,  next to St Andrew's School in Congresbury, from 7 - 9 pm.

The entrance to the Children's Centre is just next to Holders Garage on the main road.

Christmas opening hours

The Information and Support Line will be closed from 2pm Friday 20th December until 10am Monday 6th January 2014. The office will also be closed throughout the christmas holidays and we will return on Monday 6th January 2014. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year!

Responses to the consultation on the draft 0-25 SEN Code of Practice 

We have submitted a whole-organisation response to the consulation and our Local Coordinators have also submitted individual responses including comments from parents that we supported.

Parents may be interested to read IPSEA's response.  For the Council for Disabled Children's (CDC) response and others including EDCM, SEC and NPPN can be found on the CDC wesite using this link.

Young People's Consultation on the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (15 year olds and under) 

The government is changing the law on special educational needs (SEN) and has written a draft code of practice. This consultation specifically seeks the views of young people aged 15 and under on replacing SEN statements with 0 to 25 education, health and care plans - link to consultation.
