Mary Adams from North Somerset PCT will be coming to talk about the current public engagement process for Integrated Health Care plans in North Somerset


As this includes the services that are used by children and young people with additional needs and disabilities it is important that you know about these changes and how you can make your concerns, views, representations known.

Children and Families Bill - Next Steps

The Government has just announced that it will overhaul the Special Educational Needs (SEN) system under new legislation announed in the Queen's speech 9 May.  The Bill is expected to be introduced early in 2013. 

The key measurers will be:

  • 0-25 Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) from 2014
  • statutory protection comparable with existing statements of SEN
  • a published local offer of support for families of children with SEN and disablities.
  • personal budgets for those with EHCP
  • mediation for disputes and the child's right to appeal to tribunal
