Feedback from North somerset EHCP Annual Review Workshop on 10th November

Thank you to everyone who attended our, very successful, first EHCP Annual Review Workshop on Friday.  We received positive and useful feedback which will help us to develop the workshop further and we hope to be running more in the New Year. “The activity which focussed on smartening up outcomes was particularly helpful” “Speakers have knowledge on the subject and they demonstrated very clearly”

Ofsted will be running an Webinar to collect South Glos parents thoughts on Friday 3rd November.

 Dear Parents / Carers

We have been informed that South Glos as an area will be inspected by Ofsed and CQC starting on the 6th November.

In preparation for this Ofsted will be running an Webinar to collect parents thoughts on Friday 3rd November.

If since September 2014 you have had experience of the new SEND reforms in relation to services provided to your child, ie a request for EHC needs assessment , experience of EHC plan, you've converted your child's Statement to an EHC Plan, or your child is on the school's SEN Support list:

Please join a webinar with Ofsted, on Friday 10 am November 3rd .

WHAT IS INVOLVED ?

The Ofsted team can't see us or hear us when we sign onto the webinar presentation , but we'll see the questions they ask (on your computer, smart phone or tablet), and we can hear the presentation from the inspector.

We don't need to speak. We just click our answers, and we can type in our comments or questions. It's that easy! All information gathered will be anonymised.

We need to be honest and report back on things that are not working but not to forget the things that are working we nee feedback from as many families as possible.

HOW DO I TAKE PART ?

If you have a computer, smart phone or tablet with internet access, click on the link below, and register now. It will take just a minute. Put this in your diary so you don't forget!

Once you have registered you will be sent a link by email showing you how to sign in on Friday morning.

Then you can join the webinar on 3rd November from wherever you are, as long as you have internet access! No need to leave your house! Just click on the link you are sent once you've registered.

Do try to join promptly as it's likely to last around 40 mins or so.

Once you have listened to the inspector you can have time to reflect before inputting your thoughts.

We know that not all of you will be available on Friday morning! So you can feedback your views through an online survey. The online survey will close on Tuesday 7th Nov in the evening. We will post the link to the survey in a separate post.

You could watch the presentation and then complete the online survey later.

We hope you are able to make the time to contribute to this important review and if you have any questions in the meantime, do let us know.

Do pass this onto other parents/carers who you think maybe interested.

What Matters for Children and Young People

The Minister for Disabled People has asked the Disabled Children’s Partnership to help gather the views of disabled children and young people. The Disabled Children's Partnership have developed a survey where you can tell them what you think the Government’s priority should be. They will then share the thoughts and views with the Minister for Disabled People. They particularly want to hear from disabled children and young people, so please do share click here for survey
