Volunteer with Supportive Parents - What We Do

Supportive Parents provides the Special Educational Needs & Disability Information, Advice and Support (SENDIAS) Service in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

We are an independent organisation and registered charity offering free, confidential and impartial advice to children or any young person aged up to 25 and their parents, about Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Supportive Parents was originally set up by local parents and professionals as a charity in 1989 upon realising that better outcomes could be achieved for children and young people with SEND by working together. Today we remain as responsive and firmly focused as ever, ensuring that children, young people and their parents or carers get the help they need.

Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring Supportive Parents provide the best service. Our volunteer roles vary and include connecting with community organisations, schools and colleges to raise awareness of our service, supporting our Administration or Marketing teams and attending board meetings as a Volunteer Trustee.

We encourage you to apply to volunteer with the Supportive Parents team if you are passionate about working within a SENDIAS service or if you have knowledge and skills that you would like to share and develop within a client centred charity organisation. We look forward to hearing from you!
